This is where the real learning starts. Then what you do is you copy that code and you paste it into your app, making a few changes as you go. Likewise, try out some of the code samples available through Android studio. See how they work, try changing things and just experiment.
A lot of it boils down to reverse engineering and copying and pasting. Once you have the main program in place, the rest you pick up as you go. So instead, dive in, get your hands dirty and learn on the job.
